Anita Salemink is a Dutch-born artist and writer. She grew up in the 1970s in Ireland during some of the most violent years of the Troubles. The family remained in Ireland for ten years, of which the last three in the countryside away from the bomb scares and military checkpoints that seemed part of daily life in the city. She lived in a rural Georgian mansion with a Gothic entrance and a rich historical past, which inspired her to write her first novel. She is a visual artist and teaches painting to amateur enthusiasts in the evening. She is currently working on a speculative novel for adults set in WWII.
